Brain Balls

I got this recipe from this awesome website called www.fannetasticfood.com She calls the Cinnamon Raisin Almond Balls, but I like calling them Brain Balls cause they are a great food to eat when I need an energy boost for studying!

These are SUPER easy, quick, and amazing – perfect for snacking on the go. The raisins make them perfectly sticky (without having to deal with the major stickiness of dates!) and the flavor goes beautifully with the almonds and cinnamon :)

(makes 12 balls or 6 bars)
Ingredients:
  • 1 C almonds
  • 1 C raisins
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions:
Rinse the raisins and almonds with some water. Toss them in a food processor with the cinnamon. Whirl away! SO easy.

Then, form them into ball or bar shapes!

Enjoy :)
In case you’re curious… here’s the nutritional breakdown per serving size (one serving is either two balls or one bar):

Now what is great about this is that you can interchange some of the ingredients. For example, if you don't like raisins use dried cranberries, dried blueberries, dried cherries, etc. You can use anything that has a sticky texture to them and you can always switch out the nuts. Use pecans instead of almonds or something along those lines.

If you'd like to make them a little more decadent melt some dark chocolate (loaded in antioxidants) and dip a small portion of the Brain Balls in it! Makes a great dessert! Thanks Anne for the great idea!
